Point of Sale (POS) System

Introduction

The POS (Point of Sale) page is the core of any iPOS (Intelligent Point of Sale) system. It allows users (cashiers or sales staff) to process customer purchases quickly and efficiently. This page acts as a digital cash register and is essential for daily retail or sales operations.

Step 1: Access the POS Interface

 Open the POS software.

Log in with the assigned cashier or admin credentials.

You’ll be taken to the main sales screen, where the item list and sale actions appear.

Step 2: Search or Scan for a Product

Use the Search bar (usually marked with a magnifying glass icon or shortcut key like Q) to find products by:

         Product Name

         SKU / Barcode

           Scan Barcode disabled

         Category

Or use a barcode scanner to input the item instantly.

Example input: “Maggi Curry Flavour” or scan its barcode.

This area helps cashiers confirm the product, price, and category before adding it to the cart.

Step 4: Add Item to Sale

The item appears in the cart area or bill summary.

You can adjust:

     Quantity

     Discount

Hold Sale

Hold-Sale

Purpose:

The "Hold Sale" feature allows the cashier to temporarily pause or save a transaction without canceling it.

This is useful when the customer wants to:

  Add more items later

  Retrieve forgotten cash/card

  Resolve a price query

Wait for someone else (like a family member or manager)

How It Works

During Billing:

The cashier scans or adds products to the cart.

Customer suddenly asks to pause the billing

     (e.g., they forgot their wallet).

Click “Hold Sale”:

Press the “Hold Sale” button (usually visible in the cart or billing screen).

The current bill is saved temporarily.

The system clears the current cart so the cashier can handle the next customer.

Sale Goes to “Hold List”:

The held sale is stored in a separate “Hold Sales” section.

Each hold bill shows:

   Time of hold

   Total amount

   Items in cart

Option to resume, edit, or cancel

Resume the Sale:

When the customer returns:

Go to the “Hold Sales” section

Click “Resume”

Continue billing from where it was paused

Benefits:

Increases efficiency during peak hours.

Avoids customer frustration by not needing to restart the bill.

Prevents billing errors and maintains transaction accuracy.

Related Features:

Takeaway – For customers taking food out.

Delivery – For home delivery orders.

Cancel Bill – To discard the sale entirely.

Step 5: Cart Summary & Total Section

All items added show in a running list (e.g., Maggi – 130.00, Pampers – 1370.00, etc.)

The POS calculates:

     Item total

     Grand total

Next Close Order Without Print Button (Optional) / Click on Receipt Button

Step 6: Optional Filters and Tabs

Our POS systems have tabbed filters such as:

Grocery / Others / Baby Items / Dairy / Beverages

Clicking these filters displays items by category for faster selection.

           Print receipt

           Without Print receipt
